Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Paro - Drive to Thimphu (L, D)

Fly into Paro with breathtaking Himalayan views.
Meet your guide and drive to Thimphu (1.5 hrs).
En route: Visit Tamchog Lhakhang (15th-century temple), Buddha Dordenma (giant golden statue) and Memorial chorten.
Evening stroll through Thimphu’s streets.
Overnight in Thimphu

Day 2 - Explore Thimphu (B, L, D)

Morning: Cheri Monastery Hike (4 - hour round trip) - Bhutan’s first monastery, founded in 1620.
Afternoon: Visit the Paper Factory (Traditional handmade paper), explore the vibrant Weekend Market (Fri- Sun), and browse the Bhutan Craft Bazaar.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3 - Thimphu – Gangtey (B, L, D)

Drive to Gangtey (5 hrs) via Dochula Pass (3,140m) with 108 memorial stupas and Himalayan views.
Visit Gangtey Monastery (17th century) and the glacial Phobjikha Valley, home to endangered Black-necked Cranes.
Overnight in Gangtey.

Day 4 - Gangtey – Punakha – Paro (B, L, D)

Morning: Enjoy the peaceful Gangtey Valley before departing.
Visit Punakha Dzong (1637), the magnificent fortress at the confluence of two rivers.
Continue to Paro (4 hrs). Evening visit Rimpung Dzong ("Fortress of the Heap of Jewels").
Overnight in Paro.

Day 5 - Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery (B, L, D)

Full-day hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) – 5-hour round trip, perched 900m above the valley.
Afternoon: Farmhouse Experience – visit a traditional Bhutanese home.
Optional: Hot stone bath (USD 25) or horse ride up the trail (USD 25).
Overnight in Paro.

Day 6 - Depart from Paro (B)

Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
