Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Paro - Drive to Thimphu (L, D)

Scenic flight to Paro with Himalayan views (including Mt. Everest if weather permits).
Drive to Thimphu (1.5 hrs).
Visit Tag Dzong (National Museum) and Tashichho Dzong (seat of the King and central monk body).
Evening stroll in Thimphu.
Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2 - Explore Thimphu (B, L, D)

Visit Memorial Chorten, Changgangkha Lhakhang, and Zilukha Nunnery.
Explore Simtokha Dzong (Bhutan's oldest dzong, built in 1631).
Afternoon: Visit the vibrant Weekend Market (Fri-Sun).

Day 3 - Thimphu – Gangtey (B, L, D)

Drive to Gangtey (5 hrs) via Dochula Pass with 108 stupas and Himalayan panoramas.
Visit Gangtey Monastery and the glacial Phobjikha Valley (winter home of Black-necked Cranes).
Overnight in Gangtey.

Day 4 - Gangtey – Trongsa (B, L, D)

Morning: Hike the Gangtey Nature Trail (2 hours) – a beautiful walk through villages, forests, and crane roosting grounds.
Drive to Trongsa (5 hrs). Visit Trongsa Museum (housed in the historic Ta Dzong watchtower).
Overnight in Trongsa.

Day 5 - Trongsa – Punakha (B, L, D)

Drive to Punakha (6 hrs).
Visit Punakha Dzong (1637) at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers.
Hike to Chime Lhakhang (30-min walk) – the Temple of Fertility, associated with the "Divine Madman."
Overnight in Punakha.

Day 6 - Punakha – Paro (B, L, D)

Drive to Paro (4 hrs).
Visit Rimpung Dzong, Kichu Lhakhang (7th-century temple), and the historic Drugyel Dzong (with views of Mt. Jhomolhari on clear days).
Overnight in Paro.

Day 7 - Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery (B, L, D)

Full-day hike to Taktshang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) – 5-hour round trip, Bhutan's most iconic landmark.
Afternoon: Farmhouse visit with optional hot stone bath (USD 25) or horse ride (USD 25).
Evening explore Paro town.
Overnight in Paro.

Day 8 - Depart from Paro (B)

Transfer to Paro International Airport for departure.
