Mardi Himal Peak Climbing Overview

Mardi Himal Climb is one of the most beautiful, short, easy trekking peaks in Nepal. It remains beneath the Machhapuchhre edge in the Annapurna range. Mardi Himal (5587 m), is one of the lowest trekking peaks in Nepal. It is ideal for mountaineers who want to gain some mountain climbing experience before taking on 8000m mountains. The climbers of this peak do not require any previous mountaineering experience.

Included

  • To ensure your safety and provide a smooth arrival experience, Asian Adventures offers complimentary airport pick-up and drop-off services for both international and domestic arrivals and departures.
  • Representatives of Asian Adventures will be waiting for you at the airport with an Asian Adventures banner and your name placard for easy identification. The representative will also carry an official company ID card for verification.
  • According to the trekking package itinerary, Asian Adventures arranges three nights of accommodation in Kathmandu in your selected hotel category, ranging from tourist-standard to five-star hotels.
  • Asian Adventures provides experienced, government-authorized (licensed) high-altitude trekking guides throughout the trekking period.
  • Surface transportation required during the trek and in major cities, as specified in the itinerary, is included.
  • As per the itinerary, Asian Adventures arranges regular domestic flight tickets from Kathmandu to Lukla and Lukla to Kathmandu for trekking members and guides.
  • During the trek, Asian Adventures provides comfortable accommodation in carefully selected tea houses (excluding chain hotels).
  • Most lunches are taken along the trekking route, while breakfast and dinner are served at the tea house where you stay overnight. Asian Adventures provides clean and freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner, along with tea or coffee, from the tea house menu throughout the trek.
  • To ensure your comfort and protection from cold weather, we provide clean and warm down jackets and sleeping bags during the trek.
  • Asian Adventures allows up to 15 kg of personal trekking equipment per person, carried by porters, yaks, or mules during the trekking period.
  • Since Everest Base Camp lies within the Sagarmatha National Park area, Asian Adventures provides all required national park permits.
  • The Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) permit is mandatory for trekking in the Everest region. Asian Adventures arranges this permit for all trekkers.
  • First-aid medical kits are provided for both trekkers and staff to ensure health and safety during the journey.
  • Communication is an important safety factor in remote Himalayan regions. Therefore, Asian Adventures equips trekking guides with satellite phones for emergency situations.
  • During your trek, Asian Adventures ensures clean, nutritious, and freshly prepared meals at tea houses.
  • The quoted package price includes all official service charges, government fees, taxes, and VAT. There are no hidden costs beyond the stated price.
  • Before departing Kathmandu, we invite you to join us for a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant with a cultural performance. This provides a wonderful opportunity to experience Nepali culture and traditions.
  • As a souvenir of your Himalayan adventure, Asian Adventures will present you with an Asian Adventures T-shirt, Pashmina, and company brochure before your departure.

Excluded

  • Kathmandu offers a wide variety of high-quality restaurants serving Nepali and international cuisine. Therefore, lunch and dinner in Kathmandu (except the farewell dinner provided by Asian Adventures) are not included in the package cost and must be arranged by the client.
  • Personal expenses such as snacks, packed foods, chocolates, energy bars, mineral water, soft drinks, energy drinks, alcoholic beverages, and cigarettes during the trek are not included. These items can be purchased individually according to personal preference.
  • Expenses related to personal trekking equipment, laundry services, gratuities (tips), telephone calls, mobile services, internet usage, walkie-talkies, satellite phone usage, and other personal communication services are not included in the package.
  • Trekking in the Himalayas is an adventurous activity conducted in remote mountain regions. For your safety, all participants must obtain comprehensive travel insurance before arriving in Nepal. The insurance policy should cover emergency helicopter evacuation, medical treatment, hospitalization, and other related expenses.
  • International airfare to and from Nepal and the Nepal tourist visa fee are not included in the package cost and must be arranged by the traveler.
  • Any additional expenses arising from unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, landslides, political disturbances, strikes, flight delays or cancellations, and changes in government regulations, are not included in the package cost.
  • Costs associated with additional staff or services requested beyond those specified in the package are not included and will be charged separately.
  • Any services not specifically listed under the "Package Includes" section will be considered additional services and will incur extra charges.
  • Tipping is not included in the package price. Tipping guides, porters, and support staff is a customary practice in Nepal's trekking industry and is greatly appreciated as recognition of their hard work and service. The amount is entirely at the discretion of the client.

Travel Itinerary

Day 1 - Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Our Mardi Himal climb expedition starts with a scenic drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu. There are beautiful trails with panoramic mountain vista and green hills in the region. You can observe these beautiful landscapes along the trip. After arriving at Pokhara, you can explore around the city and rest at a hotel.

Day 2 - Drive from Pokhara to Phedi and Trek to Pothana

We will start our journey by driving around an hour to Phedi, the trek's starting point. The uphill walk then leads us to a beautiful village where you can observe snow-capped mountains. From the town, we will trek to Dhampus, watching the stunning Annapurna range. We then travel towards Pothana, which is our final destination of the day. We will explore around and stay the night in Pothana.

Day 3 - Trek from Pothana to Forest Camp

We will start our trekking journey along the green forested trails to arrive at Forest camp. We will gain a lot of altitudes, around 1000 meters, to arrive at Forest camp. The natural path provides you with a breezy atmosphere where you can observe wild animals grazing and birds chirping. After arriving at a forest camp, you can explore the area and spend the night at a teahouse.

Day 4 - Trek from Forest Camp to Bhaisi Kharka

We will begin our trek from Forest camp to Bhaisi Kharka. The adventurous trail will pass through green forests and provide you with majestic views all around. After trekking for approximately three to four hours, we will arrive at Bhaisi Kharka. We will explore around the village of Bhaisi Kharka and experience the local lifestyle. We will stay overnight at a teahouse.

Day 5 - Trek from Bhaisi Kharka to Mardi Himal Base Camp

Maximum altitude: 4,500m

Trek duration: 4-5 hrs

After we have our delicious breakfast, we trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp. We will walk through the foothills of the mountain to arrive at the Mardi Himal base camp. The base camp (4,500 meters) is an excellent viewpoint of the various scenic mountain vista. We will explore and acclimatize along the area and spend overnight at the base camp.

Day 6 - Summit Mardi Himal (5,587m), and trek back to Base Camp

This is the challenging and critical section of the trek. You will trek beautiful and challenging Mardi Himal on this day. You will have to cross some technical sections along the summit top. It provides you with breathtaking views of Mt. Machhapuchhre and other mountains in the Annapurna range.

After exploring around the summit top, we will take as many pictures as you want. We will return to the base camp in the afternoon. You will stay overnight at the base camp, observing the beautiful night sky.

Day 7 - Trek from Base Camp to Forest Camp (

After clearing around the area and exploring further, we will trek back from the base camp. The beautiful trail and a different perspective of the region will enchant you. You can then descend back to the forest camp from where you will stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 8 - Trek from Forest Camp to Sidding Village

After an early sunrise view, we trek to Siding from the forest camp. Siding is a beautiful village with many cultural settlements of ancient architecture. You can observe the locals performing their agricultural activities in their traditional attire. You can take beautiful pictures and interact with the locals with the help of your guide. After exploring around the village, we will stay overnight at the lodge in Siding.

Day 9 - Trek from Siding village to Mardi Khola Bridge

We will start our trek from Siding to arrive at Mardi Khola Bridge. We will continue our walk along the banks of Mardi Khola. This cultural trail takes you through the beautiful settlements of local people in rural settings. You can explore their traditional lifestyle and heritage.

The captivating charm of the rural region will spellbind you along the trail. You can observe the beautiful landscapes and arrive at the Mardi Khola bridge in the evening.

Day 10 - Trek from Mardi Khola Bridge to Hyangja, and drive to Pokhara.

It is the last day of the trekking adventure. The trails of this trek pass through the rugged trails to arrive at Hyangja. You can then take a bus to Pokhara from Hyangja, which takes around twenty minutes. We can observe the beautiful terrace farmed hills and green pasture lands along the trail. After arriving in Pokhara, we will stroll around the city in the evening and observe attractive nightlife. We will rest and stay in a hotel in Pokhara.

Day 11 - Drive back from Pokhara to Kathmandu

We will then drive back to Kathmandu early in the morning from Pokhara. Our staff representative will pick you at the airport and transfer you to your Hotel.

The best time for the Mardi Himal Peak Climbing in Nepal?

Spring (April - May) and Autumn (October - November) are ideal for the Mardi Himal climbing adventure. There are moderate temperatures and stable weather conditions in the region. It is an excellent time for peak climbing and other trekking adventures in Nepal. You can also climb and trek in the off-season, but that requires proper packing and preparation.

How difficult Is Mardi Himal Peak Climbing?

Mardi Himal is a low elevation trekking peak at just 5587 m. Hence, you can complete this climb even though you have not trekked on any high altitude conditions before. With proper packing and preparation, you can climb Mardi Himal with ease.

Do you need any previous peak climbing experience to climb Mardi Himal in Nepal?
